Humor

I heard this quote (actually, just the first part) in church today and immediately thought of posting it on my blog:

"Humor is a prelude to faith, and laughter is the beginning of prayer."

It is attributed to Reinhold Niebuhr, the theologian whom many credit as the author of the Serenity Prayer.

Works for me.

i love it! Does this mean that if I crack enough jokes I don't have to go to church?

M,
Yes. Maybe. If the jokes are theologically apt, such as: "Jesus saves (but Moses invests)."

Anything, taken with humor and faith, will get you through life.

What a good idea...

Thanks for keeping them both, and for sharing them with us.

What's better than humor? Faith, I suppose.

Strong doses of humor and faith allow us to become stronger, to forget...to reconsider what's important and what is not.

Heard it in church? Not a coincidence, says I...

I must have lots of good beginnings to prayer then...
