Characters, Sketchy
Having seen "The Simpsons Movie" (and I have watched "The Simpsons" probably fewer times than 99% of the whole Universe; maybe five times), I can tell you this:
Tony Soprano and Homer Simpson are similar in that each has very few redeeming qualities but we somehow for some reason root for each of them.
But we laugh more at Homer.
Usually.
I guess.
And Homer lives.
I think.

I thought I was the only American left who has seen less than 10 episodes of The Simpsons.
I have also never seen the Sopranos.
So, I totally suck at commenting on this blog.

Here's something worth pondering: I have not seen one episode of the Sopranos. Nor have I read Richard Price. Yet Homer Simpson and Richard Prior I know all too well.
I loved that movie. Having grown up on the Simpsons it was a long time coming.
Ok THAT was weird.
It was kind of like the 'old days' when I'd be watching TV and at the end of the broadcast night the National Anthem would play... and I'd get choked up and sentimental watching the flag rippling in the breeze.
And then there was fuzz and static.
And I'd stare for a minute and come back from the Glory reverie to the empty static staring back at me from the screen.
Hm. Didn't like it. I'll be back for words later.
